{Cole - Two Months Old}
Saturday my little guy turned 2 months old!! WOW! Little Cole has done nothing but bring love and joy into our home and watching him grow is such an exciting journey!
At two months old Cole Can guzzle down up to 7oz of milk at one feeding!! I didn’t even think it was possible for my body to produce that much milk so fast but to put things into perspective for you I now pump about 9oz of milk first thing in the morning AFTER I have nursed Cole. I freeze that amount, THEN I am able to feed Cole throughout the day and still pump around 8-9oz of milk for nighttime feedings. All of this saved breast-milk will surely come in handy when I start school!
Cole is now weighing 12lbs 10oz!! He is growing quite chunky and I love it! This month Cole has started holding up his head very nicely. He is constantly wanting to explore what is going on around him. He is particularly fond of music because anytime he hears it, he jerks his head around trying to see where it is coming from. He is also responding really well to peoples voices, especially mine and Tims. It is quite rewarding to see that sweet gummy smile when we start speaking to him.
COLE IS FINALLY SLEEPING BETTER!! Just this week Cole started to sleep for 6 hours at a time, usually from 10:00pm to 4:00am, eat, then wake up again at 6:00 or 7:00! It’s absolutely amazing to be able to sleep again! It must have taken a little maturity, but Cole will now sit contently in a swing or bouncer so that I can actually get a few things done now. It turns out he is not a high needs baby at all. I almost miss him needing me all the time.
Things I’ve learned this month For breastfeeding moms, a pump is a MUST when you travel as much as we do. So far every time we have traveled the two hours to the farm Cole wakes up screaming to be fed. Since I cannot nurse him while we are driving, I simply pump a bottle very fast and feed it to him. It is already warm and ready to go!
I also learned what remarkable powers breast-milk has. I had strep throat for nearly a week and ran a fever for 3 of those days and because Cole naturally gets my antibodies through the milk, he never showed any signs of getting sick, despite all the kisses I flower him with all over his face =)
